recall manning

And just when I thought it would be the same as the last time, the army had to call me up for mobilisation. Zhibin suddenly phoned me up, saying that we were activated and I was shocked for a few seconds, before seeing the Mindef email appear on my computer screen. Then it descended to a mad rush of checking my fieldpack for stuff that I couldn't find, packing, changing, rushing through lunch, before my dad dropped me off back to camp again. But the good thing about the recall was that I could see all the old familiar faces back again. Despite the fact that I'm not particularly fond of the NS days, there were some genuine happy moments, and I managed to relive some of that yesterday. Catching up with everybody was great, and well, the same old inefficiencies still happen. But, after CO has spoken briefly to us, we were promptly released again, at least for those who came back early. I was like one of the only few medics in my unit, and as I went back out to the gate, I eventually saw more familiar faces from the unit, although I was enjoying the company of firm friends who were in another unit. Sigh. How I wished I was in their unit...Cabbed back with Jianhui and Connor, and talked a bit before reaching home. So that's an afternoon gone when I should have been writing my chapter, which is still no where near completion.
